The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is looking to hear from local residents.

The DNR and Citizen Deer Advisory Councils (CDAC) are seeking public input from every deer management unit in the state, including in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties, ahead of this year’s deer hunting season.

Each unit will be hosting its very own CDAC meeting, with Manitowoc County’s set for April 21st at 6:00 p.m. at the Woodland Dunes Nature Center in Two Rivers.

Sheboygan County’s meeting will be held the following day on April 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at Camp Y-Koda in Sheboygan Falls. Interested hunters or conservationists are encouraged to attend these meetings to provide input on the state’s deer management, including harvest quotas, season structure, and anything pertaining to deer hunting season.

On what attendees can expect at each of the CDAC meetings, the DNR stated, “Meetings include a review and discussion of current unit data on harvest trends, herd health, the deer hunter experience and deer/human conflict issues like crop and property damage.”

After these meetings, the CDAC and DNR will bring their recommendations, featuring the public feedback gathered, in front of the Natural Resources Board for review in June.

A list of all CDAC meeting dates, times, and locations in Wisconsin is available at dnr.wisconsin.gov.
